it doesnt seem convenient to take the subway all the way from rupas because youd have to switch at least once. so they will prob recommend taking the LIRR to penn station and then switching to the 2-3 to 96. ive never taken the LIRR so theyll have to tell you :) but if you have to switch either way:
for the subway you can take airtran to Jamaica, then take the E train from there to 50th street, then switch to the C train. and take it uptown to 96th street. My guess is it would take you about an hour this way and cost 7 bucks...
