oh, those crazy brown folk . . .
i watched bride & prejudice this weekend . . .
wow. i haven't decided what i think yet :) edgar was shocked when he watched a little of it at how attractive the women were - and impressed when i told him i had done the very white, very bad version of some of the dancing they did (every 30 seconds, sometimes for no reason and in large groups down the middle of streets)
and i went out last night! friday, i got up early and went to the vets. friday night i had dinner and hung out with my grandma. saturday, i was at the vets until 2ish then i drove to rochester and met up with jess for like an hour. everything listed so far went really well. i think i'm a big fan of the vet - he seems very on top of his game. i think i'm doing a good thing seeing my grandma once a week - i think the constant company will do her good. hanging out with jess was good too - i think i'm going to try to make plans with her for this thursday to either 1. go to the gym or 2. go to dsw (we both have coupons) or maybe both :)
saturday night, i watched movies for a while and sat on my private little porch eating dinner and reading technology review (i'm a dork, but i really like it and i like reading the "classnotes" - did you know mulvi was in iraq? and yuriy and kristen are still together?!? don't know how much you guys pay attention to that stuff . . .) it was soo nice to sit outside and have it quiet and be in my own space! sunday, bummed around with edgar then went to work THEN went out! and drank! it was a kid from chang's bday (20th, but he kept saying 22nd). i had so much fun and was totally in love with these two guys - it felt like when the freshman kappa sig's were our little pets. one of them was broke so i bought him beer and they were both checking out a girl i knew, so i was giving them the info on her. the one i bought beer for gave me a big hug when i left. the other one - who worked there when i did then left and is now back and i used to have a big crush on - got a ride with edgar and i and was soo stoned it was funny. we took him to dunkin donuts, he was completely excited with his apple fritters :)
so, overall i had a great weekend! and i'm not stressed yet - i had a really relaxing second half of saturday and sunday so its not bugging me working 7 days a week (yet).
oh! one more completely silly thing - i love my apartment, for many reasons, but one of them is how new it is. the old place was a pain in the ass to clean because some of the dirt was just there. and then simple things like the kitchen counters - it had this stupid lip so you couldn't actually wipe crumbs off of it. and the tiles were so small and old that the grout (spelling?) in between just made it look dingy. the new place? its beautiful! and i have one of those clorox bleach pens and am slowly going over all the counter space in between the tiles, making it look nice and white (something i tried to do in my old bathroom but it was falling apart to much to actually bleach it) it makes me soo happy to clean the counters! now i just need a super cleaner to make the shower sparkle . . .
