this weekend should be fun - just random things in the city. its been a long time since ive done that. and then wednesday i finally move in - i cant believe the month of homelessness is almost over!

julie and rupa (nush already knows) aphis have been emailing updates on lives - most have been boring (well, not boring . . . i just don't care i guess is more accurate) but Christina Kim will be coming to Rochester for some amount of the fall semester to work with a professor here! weird, right? I'm sort of excited to see someone (anyone) from Boston in Rochester, but I don't know if i'm ready for lots of me'n'Chris time (and i'm pretty sure Edgar would dislike her) but its always good to have another "i'm bored, who can i call to go get a cup of coffee with" type person, right (used to be beer - i'm lame now though :) )

i miss you, megan! please don't be mad at me. things have been ridiculously busy at work and i don't have internet at home yet, so i haven't really had a chance to blog.

i spoke to rupa on IM briefly yesterday morning. she's busy but happy. she says hi to everyone.

anusha and i had lunch earlier this week. it was nice hanging out for a bit :)

everything in my life is ok, just busy. i don't know why i feel like i have so much work all of a sudden. they're moving someone over to my group to help me with all my workload, but it's taking a lot longer than we hoped (since they need to hire someone to take over her position first). so until that happens, looks like i'll continue to be overworked. all i know is that i better get a huge ass bonus at the end of the year.

i'll send pics of the apt when we finally finish organizing everything. it's so small! but it's cute. and cheap. and in the neighborhood we wanted to be in. and i only have to put up with it for 1 year since i'm pretty sure i'm moving back to miami next summer :)

Dude! That's big news!

i heard a dirty rumor that rupa was going to be in nyc sept 9-10 . . . really? it was pointed out to me that that will be the 5th anniversary of 9/11. i know, i know - waay too far in advance, i was just thinking about next time i'd be in nyc :)

i went home for the weekend - edgar, dollop and i. my mom was sick most of the weekend, fell at one point and broke her ankle. my aunt (who also came up for the weekend) and i spent 6 hours in the ogdensburg ER with her - to have them send her home without an actual cast because there was no orthopedist on call. gotta love small towns . . . but other than that, it was really nice. i like being home where its quiet and i have a backyard. dolly loves playing with my aunt's dog, so she was happy. and i got to spend a lot of time with my aunt which was nice . . . edgar got to spend a lot of time with my dad - which is nice that they get along :)

so - rupa, i think you need to schedule yourself for like a sunday night ritual of writing the blog (once a week isn't too much, right?) so you can keep up with all of your stories :) and next time, DETAILS!

WOWWWWW! You definitely owe more detials :) So the keeping it from the crew there lasted about a week? :) thats hilarious...

things here are really good. i love living with patty. she makes me feel so comfortable and not like a burden at all. im glad im staying with her because i dont think i understood really how good of a friend she is. the 4th was as romantic as i could have ever imagined. satyan and i went to the ntl history museum, saw water (which wasnt romantic but was an amazing movie) then watched the fireworks from his window - had a perfect view of all 4 sets of fireworks in the east river with a bottle of wine and cheese.

and i got promoted at work. Assistant VP which doesnt mean much but does mean 4 weeks vacation a year, more money, and less busy work...

i owe you a very long update :) i know!

hope all of you had a happy july 4th. what did you do? i didn't do much.. we were working here and i had my first bout of food sickness.. not so fun. but aside from the last few days, my trip here has been amazing. i flew in last friday, amol met me here in delhi for the night. we had a great night together, it was SO nice to see him after a few months.. we basically just hooked up till he had to fly back to bombay :)

i ended up having to go to bombay for work for the week which was a nice surprise so then i saw a LOT of him.. which was really really good. the rest of the crew there now knows about us (which was its own dramatic story) but no longer important...

so things are good.. we are past the trying to figure each other out or what this is phase.. i consider us officially together.. and i'm so happy. he's just so damn sweet, it's refreshing.. and makes me really happy.

i'll have to fill you in on more of the girly details along the way... that will come in my next update. i finally turned in my "v card" as megan would say :) it was sweet and hot and wonderful. his first time too, which was cute (although he knows what he's doing quite well for a 21 yr old indian boy ;)... )

i'm back in delhi now.. working a lot.. missing him a lot, and today still recovering from bad food. uggh.. that's the downside of india.
